Labor Day Weekend

On Saturday morning, I drove up to Brian Head with my niece Ta'Kara to meet the rest of my family up there. Most of my aunts and uncles were up there and all my little cousins. We were just missing two families, but it was like a little family reunion. We went on a few rides, ate lots of food, and sat around outside in the super nice weather. Last night we went for a ride and were heading up the road and saw a police car with it's lights flashing. A guy from the fire department came down the hill and looked really sad and shocked at the same time. We asked him what happened and he just told us that a girl crashed into the side of the mountain and that we needed to turn around unless it was absolutely necessary we go up that hill. We knew there were about three other ways to get to the meadow and back to the cabin. On our ride I was able to get these pictures:

When we got back to the cabin, everyone was standing outside in a circle looking pretty somber. I guess most of my family drove down to where all the police cars and stuff were and asked more about what happened. I guess she was riding a 4-wheeler and went around the corner and went into the side of the mountain and flipped over and it landed on top of her and her helmet came off and it killed her. She was only 16.  In the Las Vegas news it said that her family had gone through another loss in the family about 6 months ago when her brother was murdered in Las Vegas when he was shot and killed. So I think it was pretty quiet that night because we were all probably thinking it could have been any of us in their position. Here are a couple articles about it:

We went to church today and they had fast and testimony meeting. I actually got up there in front of a whole bunch of random strangers and bore my testimony. It was awesome!!!! I was so proud of myself!  After hearing about this accident I am so grateful that I was able to spend time with all my family the past couple days. I'm so grateful to have this gospel in my life and to know about the Plan of Salvation and that there is life after death and that I will be able to see my family after I die. I can never express how grateful I am for the church in my life.
